Harvest vessels from Napier are efficient ships designed to deliver the highest possible levels of quality and biosecurity — helping fish farmers create greater value in their operations.
Our vessels can carry a high proportion of fish in their cargo tanks — around 75% — which allows for smaller vessels per ton of fish transported compared to live fish carriers which mostly carries water. Smaller vessels translates into reduced charter hire, fuel consumption and emissions, resulting in reduced operational costs.
In addition, harvest vessels eliminate losses of fish during loading and transport. This is a major advantage of our design and leads to a significant increase in the number of fish that reach the processing plant and ultimately the customer.
At the same time, our vessels operate with the highest standards of biosecurity, reducing the risk of disease transmission between fish groups — which can save farmers substantial costs related to mortality, treatments, downgraded quality, and handling.
